I think you got PISS in your ear... PISS 001
Welcome to the first monthly PISS playlist! For your pisstening pleasure.
Hey wicked pisser!
Just like your monthly rent payment, we’re flushing our playlist your way a week before each month starts so you can get in the mood. But unlike your rent this costs you precious nothing! Curated for an imaginary room of people we encountered while pissing about town, click to listen:
February isn’t about thinking too hard or answering loads of questions about why and how we listen to music—it’s too cold outside for that right now. We want to listen and get things done. Rather: What would please the room of queers, artists, wannabe Brooklynites who live in Manhattan student housing buildings and the 5 people with money to buy paintings at the most recent art opening I went to at James Fuentes, called RE: Representation. Packed room, good paintings, wonderful questions asked in the work. Papped looking pissed as always (we couldn’t see the Sasha Gordon’s well enough and none of the hot people gave us any wine!).
With Joan Baez talking about a wingback screw (ride me high / tomorrow’s the day my man’s gonna come / oh, are we gonna fly / down in the easy chair? lol!), songs to fag-out to by Madonna (I’m talking to you little susie ho!), American classics like Fortunate Son and appearances by Björk, Portishead and Joanna Newsom.

Sasha Gordon’s Untitled, 2024. A teeny tiny work which somehow contains hundreds of individually painted threads. Delightful!
